DNA double helix sculpture
Sculpting the origins of life, Charles Jencks' sculpture of the double helix structure of DNA stands outside Clare College, Cambridge. The sculpture was donated in 2005 by James Watson, who with fellow graduate student at Clare College, Francis Crick, made the 1953 breakthrough discovery of DNA structure.
RAND Europe is pleased to contribute to an intellectual heritage for which Cambridge is known and has fostered for almost 800 years. Photos on our research area pages were selected to suggest an association of our work with qualities reflected in a relevant image of Cambridge's 'past and present'.
