Multi-Division Research Centers and Projects
Center for Health and Safety in the Workplace
This joint center — co-sponsored by the RAND Institute for Civil Justice, RAND Infrastructure, Safety, and Environment and RAND Health — is dedicated to improving the infrastructure for research on occupational safety and health, the quality of the debate on controversial issues in the field, and our understanding of emerging problems, both in the United States and in developing countries.
Center for Military Health Policy Research
More than 9 million active duty, Reserve, and retired military personnel along with their dependents are eligible to receive health care through the U.S. Department of Defense's (DoD's) Military Health System. In addition, nearly 6 million veterans receive health care benefits and services from the Veterans Health Administration. The goal of the Center for Military Health Policy Research—co-sponsored by RAND Health, the RAND Arroyo Center, and the RAND National Defense Research Institute—is to help the DoD and VA meet the challenges of providing the best care possible to this diverse population, while containing costs.
Drug Policy Research Center
A joint center—co-sponsored by RAND Health and RAND Infrastructure, Safety and Environment—designed to provide a firm, empirical foundation on which sound drug policies can be built.
Safe Start Evaluation Project
Children who are exposed to violence can experience negative social and psychological effects both at the time of the exposure and throughout their life. Finding effective programs to improve children’s chances of future social and psychological well being is the goal of this joint project of RAND Health and RAND Infrastructure, Safety, and Environment.
