Background

The Office of External Affairs oversees philanthropic contributions, media relations, congressional relations, community relations, RAND’s Web presence, and the RAND brand. Kozberg joined RAND in April 2007. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Development for a regional shopping center developer, directing land acquisition, site planning and design, and government approvals in connection with the firm’s projects. Prior to that, Kozberg served as Director of Public Affairs for the U.S. Department of Education in 2001 and 2002, and went on to serve as a special assistant to President Bush and Director of Public and Policy Affairs of the White House USA Freedom Corps initiative. Kozberg is a lawyer by training, and for several years she practiced with Latham & Watkins in their Los Angeles–based land use and government affairs group. She currently sits on the board of trustees of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts Foundation, Special Olympics of Southern California, and Planned Parenthood Los Angeles.

Interviews: As a Department of Education and White House spokesperson, Kozberg appeared on local and network television broadcasts, was interviewed for local and national news radio programming, and was quoted frequently by wire services, newspapers, magazines, and online media outlets.
