About the ICJ
Insurance Advisory Committee
From the ICJ's inception, the insurance industry has played a key role in supporting the organization and its research. Our Insurance Advisory Committee has long been an important expression of this relationship.
Its role is to provide top insurance industry representatives an informal forum for discussing a wide range of current and future civil justice policy issues with ICJ staff--and for devoting attention to those issues that most closely concern the industry.
The Committee is composed of executives representing the ICJ's major insurance supporters. Most have responsibility for governmental or regulatory affairs for the company, or serve as legal counsel.
Our biannual Committee meetings give members and staff the opportunity to brainstorm about how ICJ research can contribute to reasoned, empirically based policy debate on those issues. In addition, members are briefed on ICJ research plans, completed research, and work in progress.
