Improved Mental Health Services for New Orleans

Establishment of a mental health infrastructure and training program offered through REACH NOLA to improve delivery of direct services to post-Katrina and post-Rita New Orleans community members suffering from stress, depression, and PTSD, and to create discipline-specific evidence-based training programs for care providers. Also, a study to develop and pilot test a community-based program to address unmet mental health needs resulting from Hurricane Katrina and to build resiliency.

Ongoing work with the Cognitive-Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS), including a national expansion in conjunction with the National Child Traumatic Stress Network.
