Center Focus
To foster innovative interdisciplinary evidence based clinical and health services interventions, using a participatory model of research that engages stakeholders ranging from organizational health care administrators to the very patients who are intended to benefit from this effort.
Center Goals
- Create a strategic plan, including a unifying vision and infrastructure, to foster and focus interdisciplinary research capacity and activity among senior and junior investigators at UNC-CH;
- Provide career development activities for junior and senior scientists at UNC-CH to enhance interdisciplinary research capability and to foster investigative collaborations across disciplines and between researchers, clinicians, and health care providers on campus and in the community; and
- Develop and conduct interdisciplinary pilot studies to provide research training experiences and to generate preliminary data to support NIH grant applications including work that builds toward the submission of a NIH Roadmap proposal; this effort will include collaboratively developing the Roadmap topic and aims, as well as institutionally approved procedures to conduct externally-funded research that cuts across disciplines and schools.
